It is the activity through which the value of an asset is determined, in accordance with the methods, techniques, actions, criteria and tools that are considered necessary and pertinent for the opinion. The valuation opinion is called appraisal.

According to decree 1420 of 1998, chapter three, article 19, the appraisals will be valid for one (1) year, counted from the date of issue or from the date on which the review or challenge was decided.
